In this technological world, the cutting edge technology has developed drastically and new innovation is growing day by day. Nepal in a slow pace is also adapting all the technology developed but this has not been proper proportion in terms of gender. Drone, one of the leading innovative technology is creating jobs and confidence in people that nothing is impossible. Robotics Association of Nepal adapting the innovation trend has been giving access to all kind of technology but our recent finding shows lack of participation of women in all the cutting edge technology. Girls can fly is a program specially designed for celebrating Girls in ICT day under Miss Tech 2017 where miss tech team of RAN is empowering women in drone technology.
The purpose of this program is to make girls more familiar with Drones and its controlling mechanism.Since huge percentage of drone developer and pilot are boys, drone has been only a boy’s thing. So through “GIRLS CAN FLY” program, we want to change this trend by transferring drone flying skills to girls.
To transfer drone making and flying skills to 60 girls who are currently studying Engineering on Electronics, Computer, Electrical , Civil and Geomatics Engineering.
Outline for Girls can fly:
A drone, in a technological context, is an unmanned aircraft. Drones are more formally known as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or unmanned aircraft systems (UASes). Essentially, a drone is a flying robot. The aircrafts may be remotely controlled or can fly autonomously through software-controlled flight plans in their embedded systems working in conjunction with onboard sensors and GPS.

At the end of the day, participants will understand the drone flight Mechanism and have a test flight.
