Task: Push your opponent out of the game arena.

Game Arena: Game arena is a circular board of diameter 2 meter. The board is white in color with black border of 2 inches. The yellow strip of yellow electric tape will be placed in the game board to indicate the starting point for the robot fight.

Robot Specifications:

  1. Each team is allowed to have only one automatic robot.
  2. Organizers will not be responsible for frequency interference.
  3. The robot must fit into a 25*25*25 centimeter (l*b*h) cube.
  4. The robot must use on-board power supply.
  5. The maximum voltage difference between any two points must not exceed 24 V.
  6. The robot must be no heavier than 3kg.

General Rules:

  1. The arena may be scratched during the competition, RAN is not responsible for its effect during the game play.
  2. Human operators are not permitted to enter any information into the robot during the contest.
  3. The robot must be started by one switch.
  4. Any team that is not ready on time will be eliminated from the competition.
  5. Judges’ decisions shall be treated as final and binding.
  6. Participants have to build their own robot. They cannot use a store bought robot.
  7. Sumo rules apply: the first robot that falls out of the field loses.
  8. Participants should not dismantle their robots before the completion of the whole competition as the machines might need to be verified by the organizers at a later stage to ensure that the participants had not violated any of the rules.
  9. Robot should not exceed its shape dimension throughout the game.
  10. Each robot should be able to try to push their opponent at least one time during game.
  11. The organizers reserve the right to change any or all of the above rules as they deem fit.

Game Play:

  1. Your robot will be placed in the arena with its opponent, parallel to and NOT FACING the opponent.
  2. The wrestling between two robots will be conducted.
  3. Game bracket will be set by RAN.
  4. The wrestling match will last a maximum of 180 seconds. If winner is not decided within that time, the decision will be made by the jury team.
  5. There will be different round of the game. Number of round would be dependent upon the number of participating teams.

Disqualifications:

  1. Any robot not conforming to the specifications provided.
  2. The team damaging or tries to damage the Game Field.
  3. The team performing any act that is not in the spirit of fair play.
  4. The team that fails to obey instructions and/or warnings issued by the referees.
  5. The use of explosives, fire and dangerous chemicals.
  6. If a laser is used, it shall be of Class 1.

Judging Criteria:

  1. The robot which pushes the opponent robot out of the game arena wins the game.
  2. If match is draw, the decision will be on judges’ hand.
  3. If any part of the robot drops in the game arena during the game play; and the other robot pushes that piece out of the ring, it wins.
  4. The robot may be checked for the verification, any time throughout the event as according to the desire of jury team, organizing team or the opponent.

Team Specification: A team may consist of a maximum of 4 members including a supervisor (if any). Students from different educational institutions can also form a team.

Eligibility: Anyone interested in robotics can participate in the event. However they have to submit a valid identity card and a passport sized photo.

Certificate Policy:

  1. All participating team members will be provided with a certificate of participation.
  2. If any team is sponsored by a college or organization, that organization will also get the certificate of participation. Teams need to verify the name of their sponsors (if any) during the time of registration to claim this certificate.
