With his personal vision of making Local engineers globally competent, Er. Bikash Gurung is serving Robotics Association of Nepal [RAN] as a president, a not for profit non governmental organization working in the field of Robotics and Automation Technology and  has been actively working to promote young tinkers, makers, innovators and engineers since 5 years. He graduated from Institute Of Engineering, Sagarmatha Engineering College as an Electronics and Communication Engineer.

To achieve his vision, he has been continuously providing platform to sharp the local talents through capacity building program events such as International Robotics Competition, Machine Learning Competition,  Miss Tech [ women empowerment program], Drone as a Service, NASA International Space App Challenge, Automate Nepal and many others. Their belief on multi cross collaboration of different stakeholders has brought together the interest of leading organization such as Google, Microsoft, Ministry of Science and Technology, NAST, Nepal Army, UNDP, US Embassy, ICIMOD, World Vision, Fusemachines, AID Nepal  and others to promote local innovators and their innovation. Mr. Gurung with his team has been working for the formation of AI and Robotics Policy to get the benefit of AI and open the opportunities for Nepal. He believes with conscious use of AI and Robotics, human mankind will only reap the best of it and it can be backbone for the development in developing countries like Nepal. Mr. Gurung is now a board committee member of Bhawishya STEAM Challenge organized by Ministry of Science and Technology, Board member of EduTech Nepal, Community Coach of Bridge builder Challenge OpenIdeo, Consultant/expert for Development Aid  Recruitment solutions as well. He has previously worked as Production manager for Kathmandu Mini maker Faire, Project Manager for Coding your way to Opportunity grant, Secretary of Electronics Engineering Students’ Society, Production manager for Hack the quake.
